We follow the intense MX1 battle as reigning champion Billy MacKenzie’s hopes of retaining his title are dashed by early-season falls and a mid-season injury. The way was open for rival Brad Anderson to claim victory, but South African star Gareth Swanepoel produced a stunning mid-season run of success to challenge for the championship. In MX2, Stephen Sword’s move to KTM set up a thrilling showdown with title-holder Shaun Simpson, and the pair traded blows in the opening rounds. Sadly, Simpson’s hopes of retaining the championship were shattered in a training accident, but that didn’t mean Sword had it all his own way – stunning rides from the likes of Jake Nicholls and Mattis Karro ensured the fight would go on.
