The second round of the 2009 Powerboat P1 World Championship takes us to a new championship venue  in Istanbul, Turkey during the weekend 19th - 21st June.

The Powerboat P1 race will take place in the Bosphorus, the strait that forms the boundary between the European part of Turkey and its Asian part.

The Championship creates a dramatic spectacle, as the sleek yet highly powered racing boats embark upon a series of closely fought off-shore endurance races across Europe and the Middle East. The venues for 2009 are Malta, Turkey, Sweden, Italy and Bahrain.

Teams from around the world will compete in the Evolution or Supersport Class races.

After Round 1 in Malta, the Evolution class is led by the OSG Racing Team (88) and the Supersports Class by the Ukrainian Spirit (43)
